Pros: It seemed like a pretty good price for a backup drive.

Cons: I have been using it for Mac Time Machine backups for 9 months in an external "toaster".
It periodically makes noises that something is grinding or scraping.
I have to but a new drive because I can't rely on a 2TB drive that is making noises.

Overall Review: I would not want to ever buy a drive that is noisy.

Current drive technology dictates that some noise will occur during normal drive operation. The type and volume of noise are dependent on whether the are drive performing a read/write operation or idle with the heads parked. It is important to recognize which noises indicate trouble or normal drive operation.

In order to isolate the cause of the drive failure, it is recommended to connect the drive as secondary storage via SATA port to the computer and check the drive for any damage or defects. The Best practice is to run diagnostics with Data Lifeguard Diagnostics for Windows when a drive does not perform as expected or is behaving abnormally. If the test is unfortunately inconclusive and you just purchased the drive then you should be able to return it to the place of purchase. However, if you are past their return policy, you can create an RMA through WD and replace the drive under warranty if necessary.

NO WARRANTY !! at least not through WD.. 7/6/2020 12:26:19 PM

Pros: It spins !

Cons: Warranty was expired.. OEM drive..
Looked used. Was hesitant to install this in a customers laptop.
Hopefully they will stand by their warranty..

Overall Review: probably just buy an SSD next time.
Price was an issue though.

Western Digital (WD) sells hard drives to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)'s such as Dell, Compaq, Apple, HP, DVR manufacturers, etc. OEMs purchase these drives without warranty from WD at a reduced cost. The OEM computer manufacturer would include the hard drive under the warranty of the computer system that the hard drive was installed into. It is best to contact the place of purchase for any support for the OEM drive.

WD Blue Laptop Hard Drive 6/16/2020 2:31:41 AM

Cons: The hard drive they sent me was not new it was a used hard drive in a lenovo laptop the front of the drive showed physical signs of wear it had two partitions on it though it checked out fine after deleting and formatting the drive. It had no bad sectors, i would have returned the drive but i was time limited with a customer in my repair shop. I wont be purchasing from this seller anymore.

Overall Review: Selling used drives as new is bad business, i wouldn't recommend this seller.

Pros:买35镖大神舒适 Hard drive was a perfect fit for my laptop. After it being down for about 7 years due to hard drive issues im so glad i was able to get it up n running good.

Cons:买35镖大神舒适 None, so far so good

Overall Review: Great replacement of the original hard drive. Very easy to install, works perfect.

Okay Shingled Magnetic Drive 3/24/2020 4:53:08 PM

Pros: - Thin 7mm 2.5 HDD so it should fit most systems.
- Excellent capacity for the size.
- Very quiet, I have yet to hear it.

Cons: - Terrible Shingled Magnetic HDD as a primary drive.
- HDD reads and writes would plummet if too many requests add up.
- Programs would hang and crash and OS was unresponsive at times.
- Boot times were the worst I have ever put up with and inconsistent.
- Had to buy an M.2 SSD as a boot and OS drive because I could not tolerate this drive any longer.

Overall Review: This HDD has preformed considerably better after buying an M.2 SSD as a boot and OS drive. Since only pictures, videos, games, documents and swap are on it the drive is accessed considerably less. Try and limit access and write to this drive as much as possible to make it tolerable. I really wish this drive was advertised as a shingled magnetic HDD so I knew what I was getting into before purchase. WD needs more R&D on this product. I don't know if it needs improved firmware, more cache or both.
